The formulas for calculating the area of a polygon by the coordinates of its vertices are known long ago, but 90 years of the XX-th century they had no particular significance. Since the advent of modern surveying instruments and information technologies, however, the identification of areas in coordinates reported by numerical models, it was the only way in use.
