After Merkel's vehement plea for TTIP front of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington meeting with Froman and De Gucht Gabriel is still uncomfortable. He had a choice: on the one hand a relentless European Commission, the Chancellor and the BDI, on the other an increasingly outraged electorate, trade unions, civil society and the SPD basis.
